We will be providing a variety of family-focused games and entertainment. We plan to have a huge water slide as well as two giant Jengas, two Regulation Cornhole courts and two Giant Connect 4 games.
So there will be plenty to keep the family busy. We will soon be publishing details of game challenges so start putting your teams together.
We will have live music from 6 pm to 9 pm and will end the evening with a spectacular laser show.

LETTER FROM THE COMMISSIONER Happy July, yโall! As we enter the holiday weekend, please be mindful that earlier this week Harris County declared a burn ban for unincorporated areas. I encourage you to monitor the news for updates on the burn ban as rain enters our region and to practice firework safety. To celebrate Americaโs birthday, Precinct 3 Community Centers and Kids Summer Camps participated in 100.3 The Bullโs initiative to get 10,000 thank you cards to our service members. We gathered nearly 300 cards in under a week! Itโs so important that we take holidays like this to pause, remember our history, be grateful for where we are, and honor those whoโve helped us get here. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time in thanking our troops! Participating in initiatives like these is just one small example of how our facilities help provide fulfillment and quality of life for our constituents, and for that I am proud to be a County Commissioner. Collaboration & Comradery at Precinct 3’s Safe School Summit
Today Commissioner Tom Ramsey was joined byย Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4ย andย Harris County Fire Marshalย Laurie Christensen to host the School Safety Summit for law enforcement agencies all throughout the County. Over 30 representatives from nearly 20 different agencies participated, all of whom either patrol or respond to school emergencies.
โThe goal is to get all the key people in a room to exchange ideas for safe school solutions from a law enforcement perspective,โ said Commissioner Ramsey. โSome may find other agencies running into the same issues, while other agencies used to but figured out solutions. Now they can meet, talk, and implement โ and there you have it. We’re a step in the right direction for safer schools.โ
Collaboration and comradery filled the room as officers exchanged numbers and business cards. Attendees included the Harris County Sheriffโs Office, various Constable Precincts, City ISD patrol officers from Tomball, Spring, Aldine, Klein, and many more. Commissioner Ramsey looks forward to gathering the agencies again in the Fall moving our schools another step closer to a safer environment.
Law Enforcement Ramp Up Active Shooter Trainings in Precinct 3
Precinct 3 has been collaborating with Constable Precincts 3, 4, and 5 to host Active Shooter Trainings for school patrol officers and civilians.
While the law enforcement trainings are closed to the public, we encourage you to attend our civilian training sessions. The next one is July 25, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Trini Mendenhall Community Center.
What are they and how does the County interact with them?
Commissioner Precincts often partner with local entities when working on projects throughout communities.
These can include Water Control and Improvement Districts (WCID), Municipal Utilities Districts (MUD), and Homeowner Associations (HOA).
Each are responsible for maintaining various homeowner and facility needs in their areas, but they differ in what and who they serve.
MUDs and WCIDs are organizations that usually exist in unincorporated areas of Harris County and hold authority to tax residents. Theyhelp serve their jurisdictional areaโs water and wastewater needs and have the ability to assist with drainage needs and recreational facilities.
HOAs can exist within both incorporated and unincorporated. They help regulate aesthetics within a community (exterior home appearance, subdivision amenities, etc.) and often provide recreational opportunities.
ON THE ROAD
Dreamland Place, Barrett
The Precinct 3 Road and Bridge team continues to identify and execute projects in our newly acquired areas, following redistricting.
One of the team’s current projects is within the Barrett community. This project includes plans to reconstruct Parris Road, located next to Barrett Station Evergreen Cemetery. The project will continue through Dreamland Place with the repair of road failures and overlaying all 8 roads with a new asphalt surface.
This project will begin in July with completion by August, pending weather conditions. Precinct 3 is excited to continue investing in Barrett infrastructure, improving roads and drainage.

HOUSTONย -Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make Kingwood area residents aware Houston Public Works will begin a panel replacement project on Kingwood Drive starting Monday, June 27.ย Theย scope of work includes replacing damaged concrete panels along the eastbound lanes of Kingwood Drive from Lake Kingwood Trail to Oak Street.ย The cost of the project is $99,600ย and is funded through Mayor Pro Tem Martin’s Council District Service Funds.ย The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 22, weather permitting.ย Construction activities are expected to take place Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.ย As a result of the construction activities, please be aware of flagmen and orange traffic cones that will be put in place on-site to help with traffic flow through the construction zone as the project may require a one-lane closure. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times.ย Businesses and residentsย will have access to driveways and sidewalks at all timesย and may experience an increase in noise levels due to trucks and equipment in the area. LETTER FROM THE COMMISSIONER As a Commissioner, I have the honor to meet with different groups and individuals who work hard to improve the quality of life for their friends, neighbors, and communities. Last month, I spent a day with the District Attorney’s Office, just one of the great groups of people we have working to ensure the public’s safety. During my visit, I met dozens of bright-eyed, driven prosecutors who spend hours in the courtroom. I got to see prosecutors handling phone calls with patrol officers to manage in-take. I met with their department heads who are passionate about taking care of their team members. I saw firsthand how they travel back and forth from their headquarters to the courthouse, an inefficiency created by Hurricane Harvey. I saw the software they use to manage cases, and as well as a snippet of the long days they spend fighting for justice. You should know that they feel the hardships of the rise in crime just like we do. You should know that they are working hard to make a difference for all of us. The cards are stacked up against them, and as a Commissioners Court member who is responsible for allocating taxpayer dollars – I will continue to advocate for funding them along with our other law enforcement agencies. Ensuring your safety and spending your money wisely are the most important job duties I have. It’s a responsibility I do not take lightly and will keep pushing for the betterment of Precinct 3 and all of Harris County. – Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey, P.E.

BUS PROGRAM
Grab a friend and hit the road!
Did you know that Precinct 3 has a Bus Program, providing free bus trips for groups and individuals,age 50 and older?
Created in 1989 with a single 15-passenger van, Precinct 3โs Bus Program has grown to a fleet of 19 buses. These are specially equipped buses that accommodate wheelchairs and passengers with limited mobility.
The bus program for individuals takes participants on day trips to events such as Astros games, the Kemah Boardwalk, and seasonal/holiday attractions, just to name a few. The bus program for groups allows participants to plan their own bus trip, much like Kay Caffey, who frequently plans trips for her group – Kay’s Friends from Kingwood.
“Most seniors don’t like driving at night, and this program eliminates worrying about driving and offers people the chance to participate in events they otherwise wouldn’t have opportunities to experience,” said Caffey. “People feel included, welcomed, and valued.”
Kay’s Friends has utilized the Bus Program for trips to places like College Station, Lake Jackson, Galveston and La Grange. Caffey said it’s convenient to book a bus and often has a waitlist of friends for her planned trips.

It’s no secret that Precinct 3 is home to 68 amazing parks and green spaces, including Jesse H. Jones Park, Mercer Botanic Gardens, and the Spring Creek Greenway!
To elevate your outdoor experience, Precinct 3’s Parks Department offers programming and educational events at various parks and facilities.

Fictitious e-tags, also known as temporary license tags or paper plates, have been a common denominator to crimes plaguing our region.
As a result of requests made by law enforcement during Commissioner Ramsey’s Crime Task Force meeting, Precinct 3 has partnered with Travis County Constable Precinct 3 and Harris County Constable Precinct 5 in facilitating classes to help law enforcement identify these tags and get them off the streets.
The goal is to train as many law enforcement officers as possible to combat the rise in crime and keep our communities safer, together.

Parties of 15 or more must call Community Asset Management at 281.852.1155 and register their function.ย A lifeguard arranged by Community Asset Management and paid for by the homeowner will be required.
May-Sept pool hours are 8:00 AM โ 10:00 PM.ย Other hours are 10:00 AM โ 8:00 PM.ย Anyone caught in the pool after hours will be suspended for the remainder of the season and trespassing charges will be filed against that person or persons
Tots in diapers must wear rubber pants over any type of diaper
The pool is reserved for the exclusive use of the residents of Kings Crossing The Enclave and their accompanied guests
These rules are typically posted inside the fenced pool area.
