Unacceptable Activity

It saddens me to report that our beautiful neighborhood pool was vandalized either the evening of Thursday, June 2 or Friday, June 3.  The intruders left our pool furniture turned over and pool tools broken and unusable.  Please check your home security cameras and/or doorbell camera systems and see if you have any activity that might be associated to this incident.  Activity such as cars or people walking in the late/dark hours of Thursday or Friday evening.

In addition, the street sign at N. Strathford Ln. and Elmstone Ct. was discovered disconnected or fell from the stop sign, but not removed.  This may or may not be related to the pool incident.  A report has been filed with the City Works of Houston, at 3-1-1, to repair and/or re-install the sign.

These incidents will be reported to the Kingwood Police Station.  I will also ask for Kingwood’s Houston Police Department to patrol our neighborhood during the evening/late evenings to help deter this type of activity.

And yes, it may have just been kids having fun or, as I like to say, kids doing things they know they shouldn’t be doing. But we do not wish to condone this type of disregard of our pool, pool accessories and our neighborhood.  We wish our residents, and their guests, have a nice experience at our private pool.

Additionally, concern has been expressed about the number of people at our pool, whether they are all residents.  If you are at the pool, the best way to find out is to introduce yourself. Hopefully get to know a neighbor!  Let’s please keep our pool for us and our guests and follow the rules as posted at the pool and on the website.

Do not share your pool key

If a new neighbor needs a key, have them contact me or Vickie Cain, Community Manager, Goodwin & Company, Vickie.Cain@goodwintx.com, or 281.852.1155.

HOA Board President

Lake Houston Community Association

A Special “Thank You” to the Departing Lake Houston Community Association HOA Board Members

The new HOA Board wants to express a special “Thank You” to Dick Ireland, former President and Rosetta Korry, former Director. Their years of service on the Board have been immeasurable and the hours spent completing their duties, incomprehensible. We have been very fortunate to have such leaders serving our community, volunteering their time to maintain and improve our neighborhood. Fortunately, these people remain in our community and have made themselves available to us, giving us guidance when and where we need it. When you see these people out and about be sure to express a “thank you” to them as this community would not be as wonderful as it is without them.

Again, THANK YOU Dick & Rosetta!

Community Guidance as Texas Begins to Reopen

On Friday, June 19th, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo signed an order requiring businesses to generate, post, and implement health and safety policies which include, at a minimum, a requirement that workers, customers or visitors wear face coverings. The order takes effect at 12:01 am on Monday, June 22nd.

The order directs all commercial entities providing goods or services to require that all employees or visitors to a business premise wear face coverings in areas that involve any proximity to co-workers or the public. Face coverings may include homemade masks, scarfs, bandanas, or a handkerchief. Commercial entities must post the health and safety policy in a conspicuous location sufficient to provide notice to employees and visitors of all health and safety requirements.

To support the development of health and safety policies, Harris County is making available a sample health and safety policy and additional guidelines for businesses. Businesses that fail to develop, post, and implement a Health and Safety Policy are subject to a $1,000 for each violation.

A copy of the order may be found here.
