The Enclave/Kingwood Community Garage Sale

The Enclave Garage Sale has been advertised on local websites. We anticipate that will bring in shoppers/buyers. Signs will be posted at both entrances of the community. If you are participating, please feel free to place a sign or balloons at your residence.

For residents not participating, please note the date & time. You may wish to schedule your time to be out and about before or after the scheduled time of 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon) on Saturday, November 11. Or better yet, volunteer to help a participating neighbor!

Tips for Residents Participating in The Enclave Community-Wide Garage Sale on Saturday, November 11th

Here are a few tips for our resident sellers for the upcoming community-wide garage sale:

  • Be prepared with change in your till or money belt.
  • Mark prices on sale items beforehand to increase sale opportunities.
  • If shoppers arrive earlier than the start time of the sale, you are not obligated to serve them.
  • Acknowledge all shoppers.
  • Ask for help running the sale to increase security.
  • Be observant and wary of distractions.
  • Do not allow shoppers into your home.
  • Do not answer questions about alarm systems, daytime/nighttime occupancy, etc.
  • Have a phone on your person to report any suspicious activity or to seek a neighbor’s assistance.
  • It is preferable to not accept checks from strangers.
  • Lock doors into your home. Be sure you have the key on you!
  • Place expensive items near you (usually by the checkout table).
  • Watch your cash box and keep only a minimal amount of cash visible.
  • Provide bags or cardboard boxes for shoppers to put their purchased goods in.
  • At the end of the sale, if you still have items left that did not sell, you might consider donating to a local charity. There are several in the area including H.A.A.M. (Humble Area Assistance Ministries), Kingwood Society of St Stephen and Goodwill.
