Tomato & Tree Sale – Mercer’s Online February 13

For all our gardeners

The Mercer Society grows almost 5,000 tomato plants each year in its greenhouses using 100% organic growing methods.  Volunteers start tomato seeds indoors under grow lights in the first week of January. With the proper care, these plants are strong and ready for planting by February.

Fruit Trees Galore! The Mercer Society also offers a variety of fruit trees proven to thrive in the Houston area’s climate and soils.

Best Trash Rate Increase Effective January 1, 2021

Best Trash has notified Lake Houston Community Association, the Enclave HOA, of a rate increase*. The current quarterly rate of $46.91 for curbside service will change to $16.26 monthly / $48.78 quarterly per residence effective January 1, 2021.

Holiday Schedule: No service provided Friday, December 25, 2020 or Friday, January 1, 2021

*A component of our contract with Best Trash is for an automatic yearly price adjustment based on the twelve-month percent change as reported in the Consumer Price Index -All Urban Consumers, Series ID: CUSR0000SEHG02 Garbage and Trash Collection. Each of the last twelve months for which data is available is averaged. The CPI-U data indicates an average of 2.82%.
