New Date (Kingwood): San Jacinto River Watershed Community Meeting
Houston, TX – Council Member Dave Martin would like to make Kingwood residents aware that the San Jacinto River Watershed Community Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, Kingwood, Texas, 77345.
Of the five watersheds within District E, there are three upcoming watershed community meetings.
New Date (Kingwood) San Jacinto River Watershed: Tuesday, July 10, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, Kingwood, Texas 77345.

The meetings will conclude August 1, allowing time for county officials to finalize the bond package for voters.
Today, June 12, Harris County Commissioners Court approved to place the $2.5 billion flood bond issue on the August 25 ballot, asking voters to finance a 10 to 15 year program of flood mitigation projects that include drainage improvements, upgraded warning systems, infrastructure repairs, home buyouts, and construction of more detention basins.

National Drug Take-Back Day in Kingwood
Houston, TX – Houston City Council Member Dave Martin is pleased to announce that National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will take place this year on Saturday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kingwood METRO Park & Ride, 3210 West Lake Houston Parkway, Houston, Texas 77339.
The national event, sponsored by the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, aims to provide safe and convenient disposal of prescription drugs while also educating the public on the potential for the abuse of prescription medications. Sites will be available throughout the City of Houston for residents to drop off unused or expired drugs for safe disposal by law enforcement personnel. To learn more about

Council Member Dave Martin and the City of Houston Hosts
Mobile B.O.P.A Event at Kingwood Metro Park and Ride
Houston, TX – Council Member Dave Martin and the City of Houston are hosting a Batteries, Oil, Paint (latex only) and Antifreeze (B.O.P.A.) mobile collection event on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Kingwood Metro Park and Ride, 3210 West Lake Houston Parkway, Kingwood, Texas 77339.
The event is free and open to all City of Houston residents. A valid Texas driver’s license or other proof of residency will be required. This is a rain or shine event, except in the case of severe weather. Business waste will not be accepted.
Many common household materials are considered hazardous and need disposal. When Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is disposed in the trash, it can contaminate landfills and subsequently ground water. This event provides a free and safe alternative for residents to rid their homes of potentially dangerous materials. Below is a list of acceptable and non-acceptable items for the April 28th collection event:
ACCEPTED ITEMS: rechargeable household and automobile batteries, motor oil and filters, LATEX paint, antifreeze, small appliances and scrap metal. Used motor oil will be limited to 15 gallon. All liquids are required to be in sealed, non-leaking containers that are labeled as to their contents.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: business, medical and agricultural waste; oil-based paints, solvents, flammables, pesticides, herbicides and other similar hazardous materials, and electronic waste.
