Council Member Flickinger to Host Kingwood Town Hall Meeting

HOUSTON – Council Member Fred Flickinger would like to invite Kingwood/Lake Houston area residents to the upcoming District E Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, September 22th at the Kingwood Community Center (4102 Rustic Woods). The doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with informational booths from various City departments available to answer your questions. The main program will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars for this important event!

Friendly Reminder

Water before it is too late!

Neighbors, with this time of year bringing dry conditions and no recent or forecasted rain, please remember to water your yard. Keeping your lawn healthy now can be much more economical than having to replace grass, plants, or landscaping later.

For the most effective watering, the best time of day is early morning, ideally before the heat of the day sets in. This allows water to soak into the soil while reducing evaporation. As a helpful guide, established lawns usually do best with deep watering at least 1–2 times per week. Aim to water long enough for moisture to reach the root zone rather than watering lightly every day. Thank you for helping keep our neighborhood looking its best!

This Week: 2026 Tree-Trimming Project

The Board of Directors, after contractor on-site visits & reviewing their responses to our proposal, approved Urban Foresters to complete our 2026 tree-trimming project. Work is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and is expected to take approximately two days to complete. Stump grinding is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2026.

In preparation for the work, the City and/or their contractor will be on-site during the upcoming week to mark underground gas lines and other utilities in the area of tree removal with stump grinding.

We ask all residents to remain vigilant and use caution while crews are working throughout the community. Please be mindful of work vehicles, equipment, and any temporary restrictions in the project areas.

If the schedule changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, an updated community announcement will be provided.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this important community improvement project.

Let’s Keep the Pool in Perfect Balance

We appreciate the interest and willingness of residents to help care for the community pool. Recently, however, the water hose was placed in the pool and left running on two different occasions, which caused the pool and spa to become overfilled. While the water level may not appear too high at first glance, the pool is designed to operate best at a specific level.

If you have any concerns about the pool water level, please contact a Board member so we or a designated Pool Attendant can address it appropriately. Residents who are interested in volunteering as a Pool Attendant are also encouraged to contact a Board member or Diamond Duncan, Community Association Manager with Goodwin & Company.
